Sweet Sunday

Love, love, LOVE these petits four! I want to make them myself but I sure feel like I will need some help and encouragement from a more confident baker type. Someone just like my conveniently-located-neighbor-downstairs-Cindy!

[I'm thinking, I'm thinking] Or I could just show her the link which will inspire her to make these tasty treats for all of Cornerstone to enjoy! But shhh....I can't let her know about my sneaky little plan.

Sundays sure are sweet!

I love my mom's Chicken Spaghetti

And thanks to Matty celebrating another birthday (his love post coming soon), I get enjoy this delish dish.

Go make this right now!

Boil chicken in water with 1-2 chicken bouillon cubes. I use rotisserie chicken usually. In that case remove chicken from the bone. I usually use ½ of the chicken and save the other half for something else.

Cut up onions, sauté in olive oil and set aside

Boil spaghetti in broth from boiling the chicken or boil the spaghetti in water with bouillon cubes and sautéed onions.

When spaghetti is done pour off 2 cups of broth and save.

Use one small jar of Cheez Whiz or three 1 inch slices of Velveta cut up

Place chicken, spaghetti , 1 and ½ cups of broth and cheese in oven proof pan. Stir together to start cheese melting. Cover with grated cheddar cheese and cook in over 350 degrees until cheese on top is melted and the spaghetti is boiling. Use the other ½ cup of broth if needed.

Love Declared

The Passionate Shepherd to His Love
by Christopher Marlowe

Come live with me and be my love,
And we will all the pleasures prove,
That valleys, groves, hills and fields,
Woods or steepy mountains yields.

And we will sit upon the rocks,
Seeing the shepherds feed their flocks
By shallow rivers, to whose falls
Melodious birds sing madrigals.

And I will make thee beds of roses,
And a thousand fragrant posies,
A cap of flowers and a kirtle
Embroidered all with leaves of myrtle;

A gown made of the finest wool,
Which from our pretty lambs we pull;
Fair-lined slippers for the cold,
With buckles of the purest gold;

A belt of straw and ivy buds,
With coral clasps and amber studs;
And if these pleasures may thee move,
Come live with me and be my love.

The shepherd swains shall dance and sing
For thy delight each May morning;
If these delights thy mind may move,
Then live with me and be my love.

What I love about my Tuesdays

Night off
Writing letters with the husband
Avocados
Red wine
Tyler candles
The quiet
Blanket
Couch
Pup tucked in close
Snuggles
Bed time whenever I want
More than I deserve...

**update: my hubby ate the avocado without me.

I love being late.

To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. -C.S. Lewis

That's Amore

The month of love is upon us:

Boxed Chocolates.
Candy Hearts.
Date Nights.
Red Roses.
Fireplaces.
Romance.
Kisses.
Hugs.
Pink.
Pink.
Puke.
Pink.

Let me just be the first one to say: I will be sick of my new blog design waaaay before any of you. I am not a pink girl. I repeat: NOT. But I will give it a whirl in the spirit of love, people.

Since my blogging efforts have been so pathetic lately, I will be true to my special little spot on the world wide web by blogging once daily in the month of February about L.O.L.O.L.O.L.O.V.E. Oh, my heart just fluttered typing that. Sarcasm...hmm? Raising Fig, will you join me?

Signed,

Pretty in Pink
